|
Assistant Coach at Newburg 1976 |
Enjoying Retirement 2003 |
After 30 years in the teaching/coaching field, Eddie Bowling retired (2002). He is currently teaching drivers' education in the summer months. He does a little subbing during the school year.
Coach Bowling began his career in 1972 at Winona, Missouri. He moved on to Sweedborg for three years; Newburg for one; Valley Caladonia for five years; and then went to Crocker for 20 years.
Eddie coached many sports: Basketball - 30 yrs (404 carreer wins), Softball - 20 yrs (414 carreer wins), Track - 15 yrs, Cross Country - 5 yrs, Volleyball - 4 yrs, and Baseball - 1 yr.
Coach stated that most of all he misses the kids and that coach/player relationship. He also stated that he misses the comorodity with the other coaches. To fill the void he attends many Frisco League games (not just Crocker contests).
To stay in shape now (he used to exercise on the sidelines during basketball games by doing a little Bowling Break Dancing) he states he plays a little boegy golf and goes horseback riding on one of his seven horses.
We wish Coach Bowling the best and hope he enjoys his retirement. See you at the games Coach.
