Ron Hopson

Ron Hopson graduated from Pacific High School (now known as Meramec Valley) and received his B.S. degree from Northeast Missouri State (now known as Truman University).

From 1969 to 2001, he taught at Dixon.  Subject ares were: health, physical eduation, drivers education , and spanish.

Mr. Hopson coahced basketball for 10 years, baseball 14 years, and was athletic director 24 years.  He was voted as athletic director of the year for South Central MO. in 1999.

In 1976, his baseball team went undefeated and became State Champions.  Also, during his tenure, his teams won 7 district baseball championships.

Coach Hopson currently lives in Rolla MO. where he owns a bakery call "A Slice of Pie".  The business was voted best pie in rural Missouri.  His future plans are to "travel and watch his niece and three grand children grow up."  His family consist of his wife Mickay, two daughters Courtney and Cary,  Gransons Caleb and Riley and grandaughter Regan.

His most memorable moments in the Frisco League were the "battle of the H's" (Hardesty of Crocker, Hill of Plato, Hagler of Licking and Hopson of Dixon).

He was also known as the best looking Athletic Director in the League: 1.  Ron Hopson  2.  Eddie Bowling  3.  Seven tied for third.
