Where Are They Now?

Larry Lewis

Larry Lewis accomplished what many only dream about while at Plato High School.  Larry played on the basketball team that reached the Final Four and took third place.

He was named to the Frisco League All-conference Team three years and his senior year he was named All-Ozark and All-State.  Mr. Lewis went on to play college basketball at SMSU where he was on the 1977-1978 NCAA All-Region Team.  In 1994, he was inducted into the SMSU Athletic Hall of Fame.  Besides going to the Final Four in H.S., another memorable moment for him was winning Plato's first Frisco League Conference Tournament (73-74).

Mr. Lewis also coached for several years at West Plains, Sarcoxie, Niangua, Plato (89-92), and Morrisville.  He has coached basketball, football, softball, volleyball, and track.

Mr. Lewis is completing his 19th year in education and is currently the assistant principal at Camdenton High School.  His future plans are to be the head principal or a superintendent.

He has been married to Debra, a speech pathologist, for 25 years.  They have two children, Kristin, a sophomore at SMSU West Plains, is completing the RN program.  Brent, an eighth grader, is competing in basketball, football, and track.

Mr. Lewis stated that he is no longer playing any basketball but enjoys golf where he is a three handicap.
